Nuevas cosas impresas en 3D

Ya se que llevo muchísimo sin postear nada pero es que no hay dinero para nada así que así estamos.

I know I've been out too much time but I don't have any money so it has to be this way.

Bueno lo que he de comentar es que ando a mirar cosas para Battletech Alpha Strike e imprimí en 3D tres mechs en el material barato.

I've been looking things for Battletech Alpha Strike and I printed three mechs on the cheap material.

A diferencia de las otras veces esta vez para abaratar costes y para ser mas realista calculé las medidas de los mechs a escala correcta en vez de fiarme de las medidas de IWM o del MWO y son pasmosamente mas pequeños.

To cheapen the cost and be more realistic I've calculated each mech heigh in correct scale instead of the IWM or MWO and they are outstandingly smaller than the previous mechs I've done.

Como veis son bastante mas pequeños. En el caso del King Crab me equivoque por un par de mm en la escala pero bueno, se ve la diferencia con minis a escala de IWM.

As you can see they're quite small. I've made a mistake on the King Crab of a few mm in the scale but you can see the general difference in height to IWM size.

Por cierto ese cañón y ese bombardero son para un colega que también quería imprimir cosas a esta escala para Epic 40k y los puse para comparar mas aun tamaños. El cañón la verdad pega en escala con el soldado.

By the way the canon and the bomber are for a friend that also wanted to print some things in this scale for Epic 40k and I put them together to compare even more sizes. The canon really gets well with the prone soldier.

Tengo que ir a por masilla verde liquida para corregir un par de fallos de impresión que tienen tanto el Cataphract como el King Crab pero bueno, en general salieron bien pero aun así para esta escala debería seguir usando Ultra Frosted al menos.

I have to go for liquid green stuff to correct some printing mistakes of the cheap material both on the King Crab and the Cataphract but in general they look quite alright to me but for this scale I should stick to Ultra Frosted material at least.

Esto es que mi hermano le enseño a mi madre como cierta gente hace pequeñas casas a escala con plantas y quiso hacer una y cogió un castillo de acuario y quiso decorarlo en una maceta. A pesar de mis insistencias quisieron usar minis de 15mm que no estoy usando en vez de las de 6mm que serian mucho mas correctas a la escala. Como se ve al fondo llevan leds pero son de bastante mala calidad y también tiene dentro del castillo. Intente sacar fotos pero no conseguí que se viera ni una decente así que así queda.

My brother showed my mother that some people make little houses with plants and so she wanted one and got an aquarium castle and wanted to put it in a pot and decorate it. I insisted on 6mm wich were better looking to the scale of the castle but they decided on 15mm minis that I wasn't using instead. As you can see it has leds on the side and castle but I couldn't get a decent picture.

Bueno de momento no hay nada mas. No se cuanto tardare en pintarlos la verdad porque quizá espere a que me hagan unos pilotos para ellos en 3D y poder imprimirlos junto a cuatro mechs mas así que no se para cuando estarán pintados.

Well, nothing more for the moment. I dunno how much will take me to paint them because maybe I¡ll wait until a friend makes me 6mm pilots for the mechs and I'll print them with four mechs so I don't really know when I'll paint them.

Soldados de Outer Heaven - Diamond Dogs terminados

Al fin terminé los soldados de Diamond Dogs, que también voy considerar el ejército como Outer Heaven, y os los traigo.

At last I finished the Diamond Dogs soldiers and Im considering the army Outer Heaven at the same time (MGS stuff).

Los pinte en un simple color verde ruso porque hay muchas tropas que fueron a los países árabes en aquellos tiempos que como no tenían camuflaje preparado para el terreno iban en el típico verde que usan en su territorio así que me decidí por esa opción (y además causa mas contraste con el tablero). Los humvees aún no tengo claro que color darles aunque seguramente sea un woodland porque los camuflajes de desierto en vehículos nunca me convenció mucho pero aun estoy pensando.

I've painted 'em in a simple russian drab because there were lots of troops that went to arab countries in that times with simple green drabs because they didn't have desert camo so I decided for that option (also makes more contrast with the table). The humvees I'm still deciding the color although I will probably choose a woodland camo because I dislike the desert camo on vehicles but I'm thinking on it.

Como dijera compré tres paquetes así que son veinticuatro en total. Primero os dejo a los soldados con rifles M4A1 con lanzagranadas bajo el cañón:

Estos son los tres M-72 LAW y tres soldados a punto de lanzar una granada con rifles. Estoy pensando si pintar de gris las granadas con alguna línea de color para que representen granadas de humo (por la temática de no ser letal del Metal Gear):

These are the three M-72 LAW and three soldiers just about to throw a grenade. I'm thinking on painting gray the grenades so they represent smoke grenades (because of MGS non lethal thematic):

Estos son los soldados con ametralladora (curiosamente son 12 de los 24, considerando que con los rifles con granadas en la mano siguen siendo 4 mas que los soldados normales, se pasaron un poco con el equilibrio, nunca se llevan tantas ametralladoras en las unidades):

These ones are machine-gunners (it's funny that 12 out of 24 are machine-gunners, considering the nade launching soldiers there are 4 more that rifleman, they went out of hand with them, units never have so much machine-guns):

La verdad me gusta como han quedado y eso que solo los hice con calidad ejército, dan el pego y tienen suficiente calidad. Aparte de hacerlos a ellos cogí una caja que compré para un proyecto antiguo y la usé para poder transportarlos a ellos:

I'm loving how they are even more so when I painted them on army quality, they look the part and have enough quality. I also took an old box I bought for another old proyect and used it for transporting them:

No caben todos si quiero llevar a los francotiradores, Snake y Gray Fox pero con dejar algún soldado con ametralladora ya está porque siguen siendo demasiados y así dejo sitio para los tres personajes especiales que espero poder hacer en 3D aunque es un problema porque no me está contestando el diseñador pero bueno tarde o temprano contestará.

Not every mini can be storaged on it if I want to have the snipers, Snake and Grey fox but I leave some machine-gunner and that's it and this way I leave room for the three special characters I'm trying to get commisioned to my 3D designer friend although he's not answering yet.

Le puse tres pegatinas y ya está. El maletín salió de una replica 1/6 de una AK-47 con la que no llegué a nada al final. Tengo que decir también que compré cartón corrugado para hacer algunos elementos de escenografía que se me han ocurrido y que ya iré posteando al tiempo que los haga y encontré una página que vende containers a escala 1/100 en vez de HO (la de trenes) que es ligeramente mas apropiada y barata ya que es un robo lo de las miniaturas de tren, eso de 10€ por un solo container de 8cm mas o menos o 14€ por uno de 16cm me parece un robo a mano armada. En esta página los venden sin pintar a 2.20 o a 3 los ya pintados lo cual me parece bien (y de hecho los largos son a 4€ pintados que solo los hay así). Siempre me gustaron los containers como escenografía no preguntéis porqué porque no lo se la verdad y ahora con el tema MGSV pegan mucho mas aún.

I put there some stickers and that's it. The carrying case is from a 1/6 AK-47 that I never painted. I have to say I bought some corrugated cardboard to make some terrain I thought in and I'll be posting them when I make them and also found a web that sells shipping containers in 1/100 scale instead of the 1/87 HO (from train modelling) that is much more suitable for 15mm and also cheaper, it's a fucking robbery the train modelism the 20' container is 10€ and the 40' is 14€. In this web I found the 20' for 2.20€ if it's unpainted and 3€ for a painted one and the 40' are 4€ (only painted, there's no unpainted option). I've always loved the containers for terrain, dunno why and with the MGSV thematic is much more appropiate.

Pero bueno de momento no los voy coger, voy hacer escenografía casera un poco rápida para que podamos probar el juego (de hecho ni voy repintar el tablero aun, esperaré un poco) así que espero tener pronto algunos elementos para hacer un tablero interesante.

I'm not getting them yet I'm thinkin on homemade terrain a bit fast so I can test the game (in fact I'm not repainting the board yet) so I hope I can make some elements for a interesting table.

En fin, eso es todo por hoy chicos, esto ya es un post mas decente como los de antes o eso creo. Veo que no comenta ni cristo y es una pena, me ayudaría a traer mejor contenido y a ver mas mis fallos pero bueno, no me quejo, esto lo hago por hobby no por otra cosa y como recordatorio de que hice en el pasado y como.

I see that no one comments and it's a shame, it would help me bring better content and see more my mistakes but I don't complain, this blog is for hobby, reference and for making an archive of what I made on the past and how.

W.I.P. Tropas de Diamond Dogs

Sigo sin traer nada acabado pero algo traigo para que no quede tan aparcado el blog.

I still didn't finish nothing really but I'll bring progress so the blog doesn't stall.

Primero enseñar los Humvees que aunque los voy a repintar porque me quedo raro el color y no me gusta (quiero un camuflaje mas natural) os enseño como me quedó con el pigmento y las decoraciones que hice:

First I've got to show the Humvees although I'm going to repaint them because the camo is weird and unnatural but I'll show you so you can see the pigment and the decals:

Salvo por el hecho de que el camuflaje es raro me gustó como me estaban quedando pero es que ya os digo, se siente raro. En las fotos se ve pasable pero en realidad queda feo además de que no se distinguen las calcomanías que les hice de DD. Tengo que coger dos pinturas de Tamiya (tiene una marca solo de camuflajes que es perfecta) y ir a por disolvente pero para la semana espero hacerlos de nuevo enteros.

Save for the weird camo I liked how they turned out but as said, feels weird. In the pics looks decent but in reality looks wrong and the decals are almost non visible. I've gotta get some Tamiya paints (from the XF range) and some solvent but I hope to have them finished next week.

La segunda cosa que os traigo es las tropas de Diamond Dogs que estoy haciendo. Las empecé a pintar simplemente en calidad ejército para no comerme la cabeza durante días. Los pinte con BDU de color uniforme ruso y las mochilas de color olive drab. Aún queda bastante para terminarlos pero bueno, empecé a hacerlos que ya es algo que si los termino a ellos ya se puede ir testeando el juego en sí:

Secondly I have to show the progress on the Diamond Dogs troops. Started painting them in a army quality so I dont get tired or confused. Painted the BDU in soviet camo from Model Color and the backpacks in Olive Drab from the same maker. Still gotta do a lot to finish 'em but the thing is to start and If I finish them we can test the game already:

Se que no llevan mochila y que no se parecen mucho a los que salen en el juego pero sin pagarle burradas a diseñadores 3D para que hagan diversos modelos para imprimir pues va ser que me conformo con estos. Las capuchas las pintaré de negro para que se asemejen mas a los originales y hay de todo (M4, M4 con lanzagrandas, LAM, LMG... faltaría que hubiera snipers y MANPADs peor bueno) así que me conformaré.

I know they don't have a backpack ingame but without lots of money for a 3D designer I will make up with this. I'll paint the balaclavas in black so they seem like the originals and there are all kinds of troops (M4, M4 with launcher, LAM, LMG... I should have snipers and MANPADS but oh well).

También continúo preparando líderes y comandantes y aunque voy pedir que me hagan a Big Boss, a Quiet y que me agranden el Liquid (un tío majo que me cobra poco) también aproveche para convertir el Solid Snake y el Gray Fox de la maqueta del Rex ya que son de la misma escala (si, el Rex lo intentaré usar para FoF) así que ahí los tenéis:

Also preparing leaders and commanders and I'll ask for Big Boss, Quiet and the Liquid for this scale to my designer friend but I also converted the Solid Snake and Gray Fox from my Rex model wich is on the same scale (yep, will use the Rex for FoF) so there they are:

Con Snake ya tengo un MANPAD (su Stinger) y Gray Fox no se como lo usaré (aunque lo tengo con los colores secundarios de cuando pasas el juego con los dos finales). Lo último que queda por enseñar es el primer hot spot que son unos marcadores que usa el juego para diversas cosas y aunque se pueden usar fichas con números los jugadores suelen hacerlos físicos y ya tengo ideas para unos 4 o así y este es el primero:

With Snake I do have a MANPAD (it's Stinger) and Gray Fox I don't know how I'll use it (and it is on the secondary coloring from when you finish the game with both endings). Last thing to show is the first hot spot, a kiind of marker the game uses for diverse things and can be only chips with numbers but most players make custom pieces for them and I have a few ideas for markers so this is the first:

Representa el cuatro por eso de que son cuatro barriles. No está terminado evidentemente porque aun empecé a pintarlo hace un rato pero bueno, ahí está.

It represents the number four as they are four barrels. Not finished obviously because I started a while ago but there they are.

W.I.P. Diamond Dogs Humvee y aprendiendo a usar pigmentos

No quería desvelar nada del ejército de FoF aún pero como he probado técnicas he decidido enseñarlas antes.

I didn't want to unveil anything from the FoF army but as I tried some techniques I wanted to show one earlier.

Os traigo los Humvees que voy a usar en el ejército de Diamond Dogs (si, MGSV y que hype a menos de una semana ya de que salga) que mayormente modifiqué un poco y pinte con un camuflaje básico.

I bring to you the Humvees I will use for the Diamond Dogs (yeah, MGSV and so much hype less than a week for it to come out) that I modified slightly and painted with a simple camo.

Este está sin finalizar, sin ruedas y sin envejecer:

Antes de que se me olvide son de Khurasan de el rango 15mm de americanos modernos, es la versión con CROWS. Le hice mi propia torreta, el equipaje y la antena.

Before I forget they're from Khurasan's modern army 15mm range, CROWS version. Made my own turret, luggage and the antennae.

Bien pues he comprado pigmentos, es un polvo que se usan para crear desde óxido y hollín hasta polvo, barro y lineas de lluvia aunque también se usan en pintura y en otras artes.

So I tried pigments, a dust that is used to make from oxide and smoke dust to desert dust, mud and rain drips although they are used in paintings and another arts.

Leí que hay gente que hacen los suyos propios con pinturas pastel sólidas puliéndolas y rompiéndolas o con tizas, pero como aun no sé hacer nada con ellos prefiero uno profesional ya hecho para mis necesidades.

I've read that some people made their own with pastel bars converting them to powder or chalk but as I don't know how to make nothing with them I prefer to use profesional pigments first made specifically for my needs.

He de decir que primero lo probé en una miniatura de 6mm (un T-72 que enseñaré al final) y varios métodos de fijación. El primero fue acetona pura para uñas y lo fijo bien pero en un sitio que pase varias veces el pincel disolvió la pintura lo cual es un problema pero la ventaja es que lo fijo muy bien, no se mueve y no cambio el color ni espesor. Después probé con alcohol medicinal que lo recomendaba un chico y aunque conservó el color lo apelmazó como si de barro se tratara lo cuál podría ser bueno en algún momento pero no en este que quería polvo de arena (aparte de que el barro debe verse algo mas húmedo y mas cuando los modelos se usan para momentos en los que están en acción) y el útimo sistema fue acetona con algo de agua lo cual funcionó a las mil maravillas en el tanque pero no en el coche porque sin querer eché algo de mas de agua y movió el pigmento como si de tinta se tratara. Sin más, dejo las fotos:

I tried them first in a 6mm mini (a T-72 that I'll show on the end of the post) and some fixing methods. The first was a nail solvent and it fixed it pretty good but in a part that I went with the brush more than once the varnish and paint dissolved wich is a problem but the advantage is that it was thoroughly fixed, doesn't move and didn't change the color or amount. Then I tried medicinal alcohol wich a bud recommended and It didn't change the color when dry but it made it became like mud wich isn't good for my purposes and mud don't look like that and the last method was the nail solvent mixed with some droplets of water wich worked fantastic in the tank but not in the Humvee because I mixed too much water by mistake and the pigment acted like washes from GW. Here's the pics:

Para ser el primer intento no es un acabado tan malo pero como dije necesito práctica con la mezcla fijadora, necesito aprender a aplicarlo y difuminarlo mejor y llegué a la conclusion de que ese camuflaje hace que no se vea tanto el trabajo asé que los Humvees como ya los pinte los dejaré asi pero los próximos vehículos serán solo verdes.

For being my first try it isn't so bad but as said I need practice with the fixing solution, I need to aply and extend it best and I came to the conclusion that this camo makes it almost unnoticeable so the Humvees will have it but the next vehicles will be only green or other simple camo.

También decir que este va a llevar una bandera con el logo de Diamond Dogs y que les faltan pegatinas (ya pedí el papel así que no tardaré mucho en hacer el post definitivo de los tres) y ultimar algún detallito que se me pasara por largo. Me gusta como quedaron los cristales con solo grises y negro.

Have to say that this one in particula will be carrying a Diamond Dog's flag and that they need stickers (already bought the paper and it's coming so post soon) and make last adjustments. I like how the  windshields came out with only greys and black.

Por último dejo una foto con el T-72 y los dos Humvees lado a lado para compararlos y decir que me llegaron los soldados del ejército (24 para ser exactos y variados) y este fue una buena practica ya que les manchare los pantalones y botas (y a alguno el arma) de este método para que queden mas completos.

Lastly, a pic with the T-72 and both Humvees side to side to compare and I've got to say that the army soldiers arrived (24 to be exact and varied poses) and It was a good practice as I wan't tp use this system to make dust for their pants and some weapons to make them more appealing.

Personaje del World of Warcraft y francotiradores de 15mm para FoF

Esta vez he tardado menos en postear.

This time I wasn't so much time without posting.

Hoy os traigo un personaje que imprimimos mi hermano y yo en 3d en Shapeways como siempre, es su personaje del WoW, un elfo de sangre death knight.

Today I bring you a character that my bro and me printed in 3D in Shapeways as always, it's his character in WoW, a blood elf death knight.

Brilla un poco debido a que lo barnicé hace poco y aun no estaba seco del todo por algunas zonas ademas de que la luz le afectó bastante.

It shines a bit because I varnished it recently and it's not completely dry in some zones besides lifht affected it quite a bit.

Placas de señor Ymirjar santificado

La verdad yo estoy bastante contento con el resultado y porque por fin lo he terminado (se pidió junto al Timber Wolf y los otros mechs, imaginaos...).

To be honest I'm quite happy with the results and because I finally finished it (it was ordered together with the Timber Wolf and the other mechs, so yeah...).

Ahora os dejo con una mini de 15mm en la que he testeado un camuflaje porque cerro la pagina de Epic en la que iba a comprar la persona con la que echo partidas a wargames así que como tiene cosas de Flames of War le dije de hacer Force on Force 15mm y que las aproveche, sera un  anacronismo pero contando que pienso basar mi ejercito en el de Big Boss en el MGSV con lo que ya se ha visto de trailers (y añadiré cuando salga el juego) pues no me voy quejar.

Now I'll leave you with a 15mm mini in wich I tested a camo because the web where my friend was going to purchase Epic minis closed up and he has some Flames of War minis so I said to do Force on Force 15mm, it will be anachronistic but my minis will be inspired by Big Boss's army in MGSV in what already was shown in trailers (and I'll add more when it comes out) so I wont be complaining.

Lo que si queria que me dijerais a cual de los dos camuflajes que pondre debajo de ellos cual os parece que es para saber si voy por el buen camino con estas tecnicas (cada uno tiene una diferente asi que si os parece otro me lo decis por separado):

I wanted you to tell me wich of the camos in the bottom resembles more the one on the mini, each one has one technique to replicate one of the two so tell me on the comments.
