+++ 3 de Agosto, 03:30 hora local, y. 3216, planeta Khardu VI, Taurian Concordate +++

Nuestra unidad se dispone a salir de esta roca e ir en busca de un hogar mas adecuado para nosotros. Para ello necesitaremos hacer un par de preparativos antes pero no nos podemos permitir usar muchos recursos. Vuestro objetivo es demoler una central eléctrica en posesión de la Gray Death Legion.

La susodicha central es la que otorga energía a sus baterías orbitales con lo cual debemos acabar con ella para poder salir en nuestras naves de desembarco hasta el espacio próximo y subirnos en nuestra nave de transporte.

Para ello iréis dos tropas de soldados en un Rhino acompañados de un Leman Russ Annihilator y se os darán explosivos de alta potencia magnéticos. Iréis en la cobertura de la noche pero aun así no os confiéis, podría haber mucha vigilancia.

Señores, tengan cuidado y consigan destruir la central. Eso es todo.

Our unit is about to leave this rock in search of a more suitable home for us. For that we need to make some things first but we can't afford using many assets. Your objective is to blow up a powerplant in possesion of the Gray Death Legion

The powerplant gives power to the orbital batteries so we need to destroy it so we can get out in our landing ships to space and get onboard our transport ship.

For that two troops in a Rhino accompanied of a Leman Russ Annihilator will go there and you will be given high impact magnetic explosives. You'll go in the cover of the night but don't trust it, there could be a lot of guards.

Gentleman, be careful and destroy that powerplant. That is all.

Objetivo:

-Llegar a la centrar eléctrica y demolerla. Para ello una unidad de infantería debe estar dentro de la peana de la susodicha y aguantar dos turnos. Si muere antes se tendrá que volver a empezar.

-Tras demoler la central las unidades deben salir por el borde del tablero por el que comenzaron.

Objective:

-Go to the powerplant and blow it up. For that, one infantry unit must be in the building base and be there for two turns. If they die before that they will have to start again.

-After that the units must get out from the table edge in wich they entered the battle.

Turno 1:

Con la cobertura de la noche las unidades Alpha y Omega llegaron al complejo industrial. Alpha se puso al oeste y Omega al este. Cuando llegaron escucharon algunos ruidos de motores similares a los de tanques de combate con lo cual decidieron juntarse.

With the cover of the night Alpha and Omega units came to the industrial complex. Alpha went from the west and Omega from the east. When they heard some engine sounds similar to tank's engines they decided to get close.

Turno 2:

Mientras la unidad Omega se acercaba, Alpha decidió comenzar a acercarse al objetivo pero un estruendoso sonido que conocían demasiado bien se escuchaba cerca: el sonido de un Battlemech encendiéndose. Tras la esquina de la gran fábrica salió estruendosamente un Raven mirando furiosamente al Leman Russ y abriendo fuego con el característico sonido del láser pesado. Alpha respondió rápidamente pero un mech no es ninguna broma para las fuerzas normales.

While Omega closed in, Alpha started to approach the central but a thunderous noise wich they knew well was heard close by; a Battlemech powering up. From the corner of the big factory a Raven appeared looking furiously the Leman Russ and inmediatly opening fire with the classic sound of a large laser. Alpha responded fast but a mech is not a joke for starndard units.

Turno 3:

Omega comunicó rápidamente con Alpha para que se apresuraran mientras que seguían haciendo intercambios con el Raven que ya había acertado un par de veces al Leman Russ pero justo a tiempo apareció por la esquina apretando sus frenos al máximo calentándolos hasta llegar al rojo el Rhino con las tropas dentro el cual inmediatamente abrió fuego y con una precisión inimaginable destrozó el mecanismo de las piernas del Raven que cayó por los daños y acabo por destruirse al estamparse en el duro suelo barrizo.

Omega transmited the info to Alpha so they could come fast while they traded shots with the Raven wich already made some damage to the Leman Russ but just in the nick of time the Rhino appeared from the far corner braking with full force and suddenly shooting the mech with a insane precision blowing up the leg's mechanism of the Raven wich tumbled to the ground and breaking from the damage.

Turno 4:

Alpha se acercó a la tropa de Omega y les mandó subir para ir mas rápido; ahora que sabían que había protección no había tiempo que perder y el Leman Russ aceleró y fue al frente para proteger a sus compañeros.

Alpha came closer to Omega and commanded them to get in to go faster; now that they knew some patrols were there they had no time to lose and the Leman Russ throttled and went in front to protect this comrades.

Turno 5:

Tanta prisa le pasó factura al Leman Russ ya que al pasar la esquina aparecieron dos tropas de soldados cada una acompañada de un T-80 MBT los cuales abrieron fuego sobre el Leman Russ destrozándolo en pedazos aunque permitiendo que este pudiera acertar un último disparo a uno de los T-80.

Going so fast wasn't a good idea because when the Leman Russ went through the corner two soldier troops acompanied each by a T-80 MBT appeared and inmediatly opened fire on him blowing it to smithereens although not befor the Leman Russ gave a last laser shot to the T-80.

Turno 6:

El Rhino se giró al perder la comunicación temiendo lo peor pero al girar vio por la calle principal a gran distancia una de las tropas y el cañón de uno de los tanques con lo cual decidieron esperar un momento antes de actuar.

The Rhino turned as he lost the comms fearing the worst but when he turned he saw in the principal street at a distance one of the troops and the cannon of a tank wich made them wait a bit before deciding.

Turno 7:

La espera funcionó ya que por la fábrica apareció un T-80 y los soldados salieron rápidamente, cubriéndose con lo poco que había y el Rhino retrocedió para poder disparar sin que pudieran verlo desde la calle principal. En ese instante la calle se volvió un carnaval de fuego y láser debido a los intercambios de balas.

The wait worked beacuse from the factory a T-80 appeared and the soldiers fatly dissembarked taking cover in the rubble and the Rhino took cover from the main street. In that moment the street became a carnival of laser and fire from the trades.

Turno 8 y 9:

Debido a los nervios de poder encontrarse con otros enemigos las tropas y el APC siguieron su contienda con el MBT en la calle lateral del complejo ambos bandos recibiendo golpes pero ya que el MBT se centró en el resistente Rhino fue el que peor lo fue llevando incluso llegando a ser golpeado en el motor dañándolo.

Being afraid of finding more foes the APC and troops stayed on the lateral street focusing on the MBT and because the MBT focused on the resilient Rhino his outlook wasn't good even receiving a shot to the engine making a malfunction.

Turno 10:

Al fin el MBT cayó destruido en mil pedazos gracias al esfuerzo continuo de las tropas pero por la esquina apareció el segundo tanque arrollando y destruyendo al Rhino el cual ya había aguantado bastante.

At last the MBT fell destroyed in a thousand pieces and thanks to the continued effort of the troops but from the corner the second tank appeared rolling over and destroying the Rhino wich had suffered enough.

Turno 11:

Al ver esto los soldados tomaron la decisión de arriesgarse y correr todo lo posible cubriéndose la espalda con el tanque y el Raven y les funcionó ya que el MBT no podía pasar y aunque su disparo acabó con un hombre, la estratagema les dio tiempo.

Seing this the soldiers took the decision and risk running to the powerplant covering their backs with the tank and Raven remains and it payed off because even though the MBT still took a shot it couldn't pass through and even though they lost a man the strategy gave them time.

Turno 12:

El escuadrón Omega llegó al recinto mientras que Alpha al quedar atrás siguió atosigado por el tanque cada vez mas heridos y desesperados y por detrás de la central se acercaba una de las tropas. Omega trabajaba a todo tren pero estaban sobrecogidos ante las restos humeantes del Leman Russ aunque al menos entre el y la central estaban protegidos.

Omega squad reached the powerplant while Alpha was in the back suffering the ire of the tank each second with more wounds and more desperate and behing the powerplant a troop was coming. Omega was working at a hundred percent but they were afraid seeing the Leman Russ remains burning but between it and the powerplant they were incover.

Turno 13:

Finalmente Rodríguez, el último soldado de Alpha exhaló su último aliento antes de morir ante las tropas y el tanque. Cada vez estaba peor todo para Omega, les quedaban unos segundos pero todos los enemigos estaban cerca de ellos, probablemente no podrían salir con vida.

Finally Rodriguez, being the last man alive from Alpha exhaled the last breath befor dying because of the tank and troops. At each second everything was looking worse for Omega, they only needed some seconds but all the enemies were close to them, they probably wouldn't survive.

Turno 14:

Finalmente consiguieron plantar los explosivos por toda la central y pudieron comenzar su huida con los enemigos en los talones, la situación pintaba horrible para Omega, estaban recibiendo disparos por todos lados, algunos de los hombres ya habían caído...

Finally they planted the explosives in over the powerplant and could start their retreat with foes on the back, the situation was horrible for Omega, they were receiving shots everywhere, some man had fallen already...

Turnos 15 - 18:

Omega consiguió caminar unos cincuenta metros antes de que el ultimo soldado se desplomara. Los soldados enemigos se apresuraron a ir a la central para ver que tipo de explosivos habían colocado sobre la central y gracias a los esfuerzos de Omega por entretenerlos estos no pudieron llegar a tiempo, cuando el edificio explotó enviando trozos de roca y metal a los soldados estos se enfurecieron; a pesar de acabar con sus enemigos habían fallado en su directriz primaria (proteger el centro de energía). Sin duda una amarga derrota.

Omega made about fifty meters before the last soldier alive went tumbling down to the ground. The enemy soldiers make haste towards the central to see and deactivate the explosives but thanks to Omega's efforts making time they couldn't reach the central in time, when the building blew up throwing rocks everywhere the soldiers went mad; even though they finished their enemies they failed their main directive (protecting the powerplant). Without doubt a sour loss.

Resultado: Victoria marginal

Result: Marginal victory

Conclusión:

Pues la verdad contento con el resultado. Conseguí el objetivo que era lo importante de esta misión y aun encima gané a pesar de que los enemigos tenían una ventaja de 20 PV en su ejército,. no está mal aunque he de decir que tuve mucha suerte con las tiradas de comportamiento de los enemigos; si alguno se le hubiera dado por acercarse mas probablemente habría perdido aunque yo podría haber hecho las cosas de otras maneras; Alpha podría haber retrocedido y dado la vuelta mientras Omega ralentizaba al MBT y así ir muchísimo mas rápido y seguro a la central.

Quién sabe, seguro que había mas opciones pero bueno, para probar estuvo bien y me gustó como quedo. Ahora haré algunas misiones mas en este "planeta" (espero que alguna con un oponente humano) y cuando esté hecho el nuevo tablero ya jugaré en otro planeta.

Conclusion:

To be honest I'm happy with the result. I completed the objective wich was the important part of the mission and I won even though the enemies had a 20 PV advantage over me in their army, not bad although I have to say I was quite lucky with the behavior throws; if any of them were to come closer I would have lost although I could have done things different; Alpha could have retreated while Omega distracted the MBT and so get faster and safer to the powerplant.

Who knows, I'm sure there were more options but to test it was ok and I like how it turned out. Now I'll make some more missions on this "planet" (I hope with a human oponent) and when the new table is finished I'll play on the new one.
