...Or how to feel right out of Ace Combat.
¡Hey chicos! El domingo fui a un evento en Santiago, en el Aeródromo. Dejaron entrar a los civiles y había cazas de combate, helicópteros de la policía, salvamento e incluso hubo un show dado por un F-18 Hornet y unos paracaidistas.
Hey guys! Last sunday I went to an event on Santiago, in the airbase. The let the civilians go inside and there were some fighter jets, police helos, rescue and even a F-18 Hornet airshow and some paratroopers.
El calor fue una pesadilla y pasé bastante tiempo dentro de la sombra para no quemarme y no tener una insolación pero aun así me divertí y mereció la pena un montón, siempre quise ver jets de combate y aun mejor, ver uno volar cerca.
Heat was a nightmare and I was a lot of the time on the shadow to not gen sunburnt or even pass out but still, I had fun and was worth it, I always wanted to see jets in person and even better, one flying close by.

Lo primero un helicóptero de la Guardia Civil:

También había un pequeño transporte de aprendizaje:

Ahora empieza lo interesante (al menos para mí), los cazas:
Now for the interesting part (at least for me), the fighters:
Los dos primeros fueron dos Eurofighters Typhoons, uno de algún equipo de demostración (no tenia placa diciendo de donde era):
First two were two Eurofighters Typhoons, one from a demo team (don't know wich, didn't have any plaque identifying it):
También había un F-5 Tigershark:
There was a F-5 Tigershark too:
Y por último el F-18 Hornet:
And last but not least, the F-18 Hornet:
Había alguna cosa mas pero no le saqué fotos porque la cámara se me quedo sin batería. La verdad es impresionante verlos en persona, son mas grandes de lo que parece y siendo fan de la saga Ace Combat, impresiona mucho poder ver esos artefactos mortales en persona.
There were some more things but I couldn't get pictures since my camera batteries run out. It's impressive to see them in person, they're bigger than they seem and being an Ace Combat fan, it's awesome to see and feel those mortal machines up close.
El show aéreo fue muy divertido, el F-18 salió e hizo muchas maniobras, incluido un loop corto, un invertido y un pase a alta velocidad (aunque no rompió la barrera del sonido).
The airshow was quite fun, the F-18 went out and did some maneuvers, including a close loop, an inverted and a fast fly-by (not making a sonic boom sadly).
Es fascinante oírlo en la vida real, si, es como en los vídeos, pero que el sonido te llegue mas tarde, te haga retemblar y mueva tu cuerpo y lo absurdamente alto que suena aparte de ser la leche hace entender porque aterran tanto a los soldados en tierra.
It's fascinanting to hear it in person, yeah, it's like on videos, but the sound coming to you late, making you tremble, moving your body and how absurdly strong it is besides being awesome makes me understand how terrifying they are for troops on ground.

Claro que iba ser el F-5, y claro que iba a referenciar a Blaze y el Wardog Squadron, ¿a quién sino?
Of course it had to be the F-5, and of course I had to reference Blaze and Wardog Squadron, who else?
Espero que os guste, es un post diferente pero creo que es entretenido de ver igualmente e interesante y mas cuando he mostrado interés en Wargames aéreos.
