¡Primera partida de SAGA!

Por fin he jugado mi primera partida de SAGA estrenando mis cruzados de Fireforge. Jugamos con reglas de v.2 pero yo use el Battletome antiguo de cruzados ya que aun no salió el nuevo. Me enfrente contra vikingos.

At last I've played my first SAGA game trying out my Fireforge crusaders. We played with v2.0 rules but I've used the old Battletome since the new isn't out yet. I battled against vikings.

Jugamos la partida a "Lucha entre señores", un escenario simple para ver los cambios de 2º y poder jugar por primera vez de verdad.

We played "Fight between lords", a simple scenario to see the changes from 2º ed and finally play a game.

Primero colocamos la mesa y luego seguimos el despliegue en el orden que decía el manual (comenzaron los vikingos con solo 3 dados SAGA por reglas del escenario):

First we put up the board and then followed the deployement rules in the manual's order (vikings started the game with 3 SAGA dice due to scenario's rules):

Mis fuerzas fueron: /  My forces were:

• Líder a caballo / Horseback leader
• Dos unidades de cuatro guardias a caballo / Two horseback knights units
• Una unidad de guardias a pie / One foot knight unit
• Una unidad de guerreros a ballesta / One crossbow foot warrior unit
• Una unidad de guerreros a pie / One foot warrior unit

Las unidades Vikingas fueron: / Viking units were:

• Líder a pie /On foot leader
• Una unidad de berseker / One berseker unit
• Una unidad de guardias / One guard unit
• Dos unidades de guerreros / Two warrior units

Posiciones iniciales / initial deployement

En mi primer turno active las virtudes Templanza y Fortitud y use la habilidad que permite moverse mas para ir avanzando.

In my first turn I activated Temperance and Fortitude and used the skill that allowes to move further.

Los vikingos avanzaron un poco pero creo que le asustó que fuera tan móvil y que cargara. Iba a cargar con el señor y los caballeros de la izquierda pero vi que en v2.0 no se puede con ambas así que decidí arriesgarme y usar "La gran ciudad", "Ascalon" y "El nacimiento de un reino" y cargar a los berseker con los caballeros.

Vikings slowly advanced but I think my high movement scared him. I was gonna charge with my lord and knights from the left but I saw that in v2.0 you can't charge with two units so I decided to risk it and use "The great city", "Ascalon" and "Birth of a kingdom" and charge the bersekers with the knights.

La jugada salió un tanto graciosa ya que nos eliminamos mutuamente pero lo que pasó después fue que cargue a través de un bosque con mis otros caballeros a una unidad de guerreros y murieron dejando solo una baja por el lado diestro del campo.

That strategy turnet out hilarious since we both killed our units mutually but what happened after was that I charged through some woods with my other knights against some warriors and they died leaving just one of them dead on the right of the board.

A efectos de reglas ya habría perdido por la diferencia de puntos pero decidimos jugar un rato mas que teníamos libre así que tras un turno en el que los vikingos me atacaron al líder y me metieron fatiga a cambio de una baja para ellos, me tocó y me arriesgué a que mi líder fuera por ellos de nuevo con varias habilidades pero entre que mi contrincante ya tenía habilidades guardadas y la fatiga, resulto un combate muy cercano en el que consiguió ganarme y matar a mi jefe.

The rules dictate I lost already from the point difference but we decided to play anyway a bit since we had time so then in their turn the vikings attacked my lord with a warrior unit and put some fatigue on me and one kill on them, then I went and risked it again going after them with my lord and using some skills but my opponents skill's and the use of my fatigue made the combat close and he annihilated my lord.

Al ocurrir eso y ver que quedaba poco tiempo decidimos parar (obviamente perdí y por mucho). Fue una partida muy, muy entretenida y me ha gustado el juego. He visto que mi ejército es muy móvil y muy hostil, hay que hostigar mucho con el y tener mas potencia de fuego. También vi que erré en poner demasiadas fuerzas a la derecha, sobre todo los ballesteros que ni un misero ataque hicieron.

Seein that and how little time was left we decided to stop (I obviously lost, by a lot). Quite a fun, entertaining battle and I liked the game . I discovered that this army is quite maneuverable and quite hostile, you have to push and fight with them and have more strenght to win. I also saw my error on putting half my forces on the right, specially the crossbowmen wich didn't shoot at all.

Ya tengo ideas para reestructurar mi lista de ejército y como ir adelante con el. Tengo que pintar aun los caballeros y acabar el líder pero poco queda. También ya probé mi bolsa de transporte y en cuanto pueda haré una review de ella.

I've already have some ideas to change my army list and how to proceed with it. I also have to paint the knights and finish the lord. Also tried my transport bag, will do a review ASAP.
