Partidas de introducción en las Jacintias

Y ya estamos otra vez aquí con otra entrada mas.

And we're here again with another entry.

Pues el domingo treinta hice dos pequeñas demos de Alpha Strike en las Jacintias, un evento que hicimos en la Asociación Draco. En este caso era de corte bélico así que BT venía a cuento. La primera la jugué yo contra un jugador pero la segunda ya se apunto otra persona y la persona que jugó conmigo repitió para ser su oponente.

So the 30th I did two small Alpha Strike demos in the Jacintias, a event we did on the Draco Association. In this case it had war themes so BT was adecuate. I played the first one against a random gamer but in the second one another person wanted to play and my opponent went against him.

Fue un combate por la base central de recursos: dos mechs podían entrar dentro y por cada mech que esté el turno completo sin ser destruido dentro le otorgaba un punto al jugador. Se jugó a cinco turnos:

It was a battle for that central resource depot: two mechs could fit inside and for each mech that completed the turn without being destroyed you got a point. It was played at five turns.

Fue interesante ver a otra gente jugar; no usaban las mismas técnicas que yo al no estar tan acostumbrados a como funcionan los mechs pero si a otros juegos.

It was interesting to see other people play: they didn't use the same tactics as me since they weren't used to mech combat but they were to other games.

Fue gracioso ver como se iban cogiendo las espaldas constantemente, casi haciendo líneas de conga pero es un buen uso de los mechs; la espalda siempre es mas débil y quedas protegido ante ese mech.

It was funny to see how they got each other's backs constantly, almost doing conga lines but that's a good use of the mechs: the back is always weaker and leave you protected against that mech.

Era una buena estrategia, mas en un espacio tan pequeño (60x60cm) con lo cual denegar la espalda y usar los bordes para que no puedan cogértela era un buen sistema pero también tuvieron sus fallos (no hacian foco en los mechs mas pesados o foco en general de daño para eliminar amenazas).

Not a bad strategy, even more so in such a small space (2'x2') so protecting your back and using the edges so it was protected was a good system but they had their mistakes too (not focusing fire in the biggest mechs or just general focusing to eliminate threats).

También dejaron de usar algo los IF que es una habilidad bastante útil y no se acostumbraban a moverse mucho con los mechs ligeros que considerando que usábamos el TMM los favorece mucho ya que suelen tener +2 o +3 lo cual le complica las tiradas al enemigo.

They olso forgot to use IF wich is a useful skill and they didn't get the move the lights all the time routine to get the best out of the high TMM of the light mechs wich makes them good mechs since they have +2 or +3 usually making enemy throws hard.

Pero en general estuvo muy bien como partida de introducción, me gusto verlo y lo mas importante, les pareció divertido (y uno hasta cogió algo de interés en Alpha Strike lo cual es bueno, quiero mas contrincantes). Hasta hice dos páginas que servían de contrato y aunque yo gané mi partida por buena suerte con los dados y por táctica, la segunda la ganó el jugador que jugó contra mí pero por muy poco la verdad, fue bastante reñida y emocionante.

But it was a great introduction and game in general, I liked watching it and more importantly, it was fun for them (and one even got some interest in Alpha Strike wich is good, I want more opponents). I even did two contract pages to flavour the game and even though I won my match by good luck with die and good tactics, the second one was won by the guy that fought me but was really close so that made it incredibly interesting and exciting.

En fin, no es gran cosa pero siempre esta bien enseñar algo de lo que puedo jugar y no os preocupéis que mis nuevos mechs han llegado y pronto los subiré.

So yeah, not much but it's always good to show a bit of what I can play and don't worry, my new mechs arrived and are on their way to the blog.
