Pues al final hice la demo en las Gygax aquí en la Coruña. Tuve un éxito pasable, hice dos demostraciones en la tarde, una a una persona que ya conocía y otra era una persona que pasaba por el lugar.
So I did demo Horizon Wars at the Gygax here in A Coruña. I had a moderate success, I made two demos on the afternoon, one to a person I already knew, the other to a passerby.
Como dije hice una partida que era una simple batalla en la que el Ghost Regiment de la casa Kurita tenía que aguantar hasta que suficientes refuerzos llegaran. Me inventé un poco el hecho de que el Clan Wolf estuviera en la batalla de Luthien (lo justifiqué diciendo que una sola estrella trataba de robarles la gloria a los Smoke Jaguars y a los Nova Cats de tomar Luthien).
As I told on the last post I made a simple game in wich the Ghost Regiment of House Kurita had to survive the onslaught until reinforcements arrived. I kinda invented the fact that Clan Wolf was on Luthien (I justified it saying it was a lone star trying to steal the Smoke Jaguars and Nova Cats conquest on Luthien).
En la primera batalla jugué yo a los defensores y mi oponente al Clan Wolf. Tras explicar las bases del juego empezamos. La partida duró dos turnos, mi oponente se desplegó muy separado entre sí y como la misión solo deja desplegar dos elementos en el primer turno, apenas si pudo rozar mis tropas ya que yo saqué un Locust y un ShadowHawk que aunque débiles, son fáciles de ocultar en la ciudad y al valer tan poco, ya en el segundo turno podría sacar suficientes puntos en tropas como para ganar.
In the first game I played defense and my opponent the Clan WOlf. After explaining the basics we started. The game lasted for two turns, my opponent deployed too dispersed and since the game only allows to deploy two elements on the first turn, he almost couldn't shoot my troops since I used a Locust and Shadow Hawk wich although weak, can be easily hidden on a city and since they have a very low cost, I could already win on the second turn.
Obviamente fue lo que pasó, aun con el fuego indirecto yo logré escaparme lo suficiente como para que mi oponente no pudiera hacer gran cosa en contra mía. Aun así el sistema le llamó la atención y le divirtió la partida.
That's what happened in the end, although he used the indirect fire I managed to flee enough that he couldn't do serious damage to me. Still, he liked the system and the game seem fun for him.
En la segunda me tocó ser el atacante; centré mis tropas en el lado este y mi enemigo solo sacó un mech pesado de valor tres, que cubría el cupo mínimo y hacía que fuera viable sacar lo suficiente en el segundo turno.
On the second one I was the attacker; I rallied my troops on the east side and he only got a heavy mech (3P), wich had the minimum ammount and made simple having enough troops on the second to secure the win (again).
Esta partida fue mucho mas dinámica y divertida, ambos pudimos probar el cuerpo a cuerpo y arriesgar mucho mas, su Hatamoto-Chi casi lo derribo pero en el segundo turno ganó mi oponente.
This was a much more dynamic and fun game, both could try close cuarters combat and risk a lot more, I almost took down his Hatamoto-Chi but on the second turn he won.
Como no daría mas tiempo a jugar ninguna partida mas, seguimos jugando hasta que fue hora de terminar, ahí si pudimos ya hacer daños severos y divertirnos machacando los mechs, a mi me dejo sin el Kodiak y el Shadow Cat, y me dejo el Mad Cat MK II en muy mal estado. El Kodiak y su No-Dachi dieron un espectáculo magnífico a base de tortas con sus garras y katana (si, lo sé, un comportamiento no habitual de los clanes pero quería enseñarle las reglas de cuerpo a cuerpo).
Since there wasn't more time for another game, we kept playing until it was time to got, there we could do serious damage to each other and had fun destroying mechs, I lost my Kodiak and Shadow Cat and had serious damage received in the Mad Cat MK II. The Kodiak an No-Dachi gave a magnific show in their claws and katana bralw (yes, I know, a really unClan like behaviour but we wanted fun and try the rules.
Todo contado me pareció una buena tarde y el segundo jugador pareció quedarse con ganas la verdad, ojalá quiera jugar una segunda vez. Por último, voy tratar de escribir un poco de fluff para la batalla:
Taking everything into account, it was a good afternoon and the second player seemed to like the game a lot and wanted more, I hope he wants to play a second time. Now, as a last gift, some fluff of the afterbattle:

La Comandante Estelar Neyra Kerenski no se lo podía creer, sus mechs, destrozados por el pavimento de la ciudad Imperial, sus compañeros, muertos y vencidos de manera deshonrosa. Su plan de robar el honor de tomar la ciudad a sus Clanes competidores había sido un fracaso: las sucias tropas de los Esferoides utilizaron tácticas nada honorables para poder acabar con ellos, usaron la ciudad para bloquear el avance de sus tropas hasta que consiguieron que un montón de mechs y tropas aparecieran por el otro lado de la ciudad.
The Star Colonel Neyra Kerenski couldn't believe it, her mechs, destroyed in the pavement of the Imperial city, her comrades dead and defeated in the most vile way. Her plan of stealing the victory of the opponent Clans was a disaster: the dirty Spheroid tactics, using the city to block their advance until they had a lot of reinforcements from the other side of the city.
Aprovechando sus números los hijos del Dragón les destrozaron a pesar de ser luchadores que no nacieron para el combate, que no tenían la misma práctica. Neyra pudo escapar por suerte con su Timber Wolf pero aprendería una lección para toda la vida: los Esferoides no son tan débiles como a primera vista pudiera aparentar.
Using their numbers, the sons of the Dragon ripped them apart even though they weren't bred for combat, they hadn't got the same practice. Neyra luckily escaped with her Timber Wolf but would learn a lesson for all her life: the Spheroids weren't as weak as they seemed.
