Urbanmech repintado y pequeña caja para fotografía

¡Buenas chicos!

Hey guys!

Vuelvo hoy y con algo que ya habíais visto, el Urbie. Pero no como estaba: lo cambié de color para que sea de la Gray Death Legion ¿porque? Eso lo sabréis dentro de un tiempo.

I'm back with a familiar face, the Urbie. But not as it was: now it's changed to belong in the Gray Death Legion, why? you'll see that in time.

Se ven algo mejor de lo habitual ¿verdad? Eso es porque me he hecho una caja bastante sencilla para fotografiar miniaturas.

Looks better than usual, right? That's because I made a small photography box.

Para hacerla simplemente comprad una caja de tupper grande, hacedle tres ventanas (dos laterales y una superior para difuminar luz). Para hacer el fondo yo usé un simple folio bien colocado y para las ventanas use también un folio para difuminar la luz (no es lo mejor del mundo pero sirve).

To make it simply buy a big tupperware box, make three windows (one at the top and two on the laterals to soften the light). To make the backdrop I used simple paper well put and for the light windows I did the same (not the best but works).

Así es como se ve. Solo sirve para miniaturas pequeñas (50mm o así como máximo) pero como tampoco tiendo a hacer nada grande a mi me sirve.

That's how it looks. It only works for small miniatures (50mm or so) but as I usually do small miniatures it works enough.

De momento no tiene luz pero pienso comprar (de hecho ya pedí) luces de led simples, no unos focos sino las típicas que se usan para armarios y demás que se encienden de un ligero toque. Obviamente no es calidad profesional pero para mis propósitos, economía y espacio es suficiente.

At the moment I don't have lights but I intend on buying (in fact I already ordered) some LED push lights, not studio lights. I bought the usual lights that turn on by a light push used for dark walkways or rooms. Obviously it's not studio quality but for my purposes, money and space it's enough.

Lo que si que tengo que hacer es seguir probando preferencias de la cámara a ver si encuentro una manera decente de sacarlas para que no estén tan granuladas (aunque seguramente la iluminación ayudará bastante).

What I gotta do is keep trying setups with the camera until I find some way to make better and less grainy pictures (even though the lighting will help a lot).


En fin, eso es todo por hoy. Poco traigo pero también poco he hecho, estuve enfermo así que no pude seguir a lo mio pero pronto traeré mas.

Update de Battletech, la banda de Frostgrave y mi nueva vitrina

¡Hola chicos! Ya se que llevaba un tiempo sin actualizar, no tenia muchas ganas de escribir. Mayormente traigo imágenes hoy y no mucho mas. Lo primero que debo decir es que ahora tengo una vitrina para mis miniaturas:

Hey there guys! I know I've been out for a while, I didn't really have the motivation to write. Mostly I bring new pictures today and not much else. First I gotta say I got now a cristal expository for my minis:

Aquí tenéis la banda de Frostgrave entera que no la había traído. Queda genial ahora que esta completa a ver si juego alguna partida pronto y hago reporte o algo.

In this one below you can see the Frostgrave warband on it's entirety. Looks amazing now that it's complete, let's see if I can play soon and make a report.

Aunque no tiene suficientes baldas es bastante útil y bonita y de todos modos se podrían hacer baldas sin gran dificultad.

Even though it hasn't got enough spaces it's quite useful and gorgeous and anyway they can be added easily.

Ahora os dejo algunas imágenes de tres partidas de Alpha Strike que jugue en Draco (todas ellas de introducción). Gané las tres pero mayormente por buena suerte con los dados y por tener mas practica entendiendo las mecánicas de los mechs que ellos pero me gustó jugarlas igualmente:

Now some pictures of three Alpha Strike games I played on Draco (all of them were introduction games). I've won them all but mostly due to good luck in my throws and because I have more practice with this mechanics but I still loved playing with them:

Las cuatro primeras fueron en un tablero de 60x60cm jugando tres mechs de la Gray Death Legion contra mis tres mechs personalizados como los que llevo en el MWO. La primera lucha la hice con los míos y la segunda con la Gray Death Legion.

The first four were on a 60x60cm board playing three mechs per side from the Gray Death Legion against my custom mechs from MWO. The first one I played with my mechs and the second with the Grey Death Legion.

La última foto es del último instante de una batalla que jugamos en un tablero de 1x1m con colinas que ya había en el local y la jugué con un jugador habitual de Age of Sigmar. Se notaba un poco en su manera de mover los mechs que veía las estrategias de otra manera. Esa lucha fue de una lanza contra una lanza (GDL contra mis Rabid Wolves) en la que llevé yo a los Wolves.

That last picture is from the last moment of the last battle wich we played in a 1x1m board with hills they had on the club and I played it with a Age of Sigmar player. I noticed on how he moved the mechs he saw strategies quite differently. That fight was a lance against a lance (GLD against my Rabid Wolves) in wich I played my Wolves.

La lanza de la GDL estaba compuesta de un King Crab, un Jagermech, un Hunchback y un Cicada. La mía de los Rabid Wolves estaba compuesta por un Kodiak (que se sobrecalentó, apagó y murió en el siguiente turno por ello ya que recibió un focus fire bastante curioso), un Cataphract, un Centurion y el Cicada. Gané la batalla y solo me quedaron esos dos mechs que veis.

The GLD lance was composed of a King Crab, Jagermech, Hunchback and a Cicada. The Rabid Wolves one was composed of a Kodiak (wich overheated, shut down and died in the next turn due to a big focus fire), a Cataphract, a Centurion and a Cicada. I've won the battle and I was left only with those two mechs.

La batalla mas o menos trascurrió de la siguiente manera: al principio nos enfrentamos en las ruinas del centro pero el jugador de la GDL se arrinconó un poco en esa colina que se ve a la izquierda y le flanqueé y aunque perdí el Kodiak rompí su formación y pude ir distribuyendo daños varios a cada mech. Al ver esto pudo retroceder porque moví el Cicada que estaba en la colina de la derecha y lo moví a las ruinas con lo cual el retrocedió pero le avasallé un poco tanto con el Centurion como el Cicada hasta que gané.

The battle went something like this: at first we fought on the ruins in the middle but the GDL player went into the left corner (near the hill you see) so I flanked him and even though I lost the Kodiak I broke his formation and could spread damage on his various mechs. Seeing the he fled as I backed up with the Cicada towards the ruins but I harassed him a bit with the Centurion and Cicada until I won.

Inspirado en el tráiler de MechWarrior V Mercenaries me dispuse a hacer un nuevo hangar ya que el viejo lo había tirado (por eso de que estaba muy mal hecho).

Imspired on the MechWarrior V Mercenaries trailer I started making a new hangar since the old one I threw to the garbage (since it was really badly done).

He usado el suelo que venía con el MG Rex y el resto lo hice con lo que pude. Aun queda mucho del interior por hacer (mas detalles de pintura, mas cosas que den perspectiva de escala..) pero va en buen curso. El exterior será una colina en la que esta metida el hangar y el hangar tendrá dos leds para iluminación.

I've used the floor from the MG Rex kit and the rest I've made with what I could. There's still a lot to do from the interior (more painjob details, more scale feel details...) but it's going alright. The exterior will be a hill in wich the hangar is located and it'll have two leds lighting the inside.

Eso es todo por hoy creo que no me queda nada por decir la verdad. Ese Atlas esta gris a pesar de que era el Phranken porque quiero pasarlo a la GDL. Para este hangar tengo dos luchas en mente, una mas simple y otra que grabaré en vídeo y editaré ya que pienso en que sea una partida mas grande de lo habitual (de hecho se hará cuando consiga refuerzos para mis ejércitos y haya terminado ciertos elementos de escenografía).

So that's all for today and I think nothing's left. That Atlas is grey now even though it was the Phranken due to it now being the new GDL assault mech. For the hangar I've got two battles in mind, one simpler and other that I will record on video and edit it because it will be quite bigger than usual (in fact it'll be done when I get my new reinforcements for my armies and I've finished some terrain elements).

Preparando la primera banda de Frostgrave

Pues ya estamos de vuelta con mas cosas que he terminado. Pedí unas cuantas cosas después de navidad para hacer dos bandas para Frostgrave así que voy ir enseñándolas:

So we're back with more finished stuff. I ordered some things after christmas to make two bands for Frostgrave so I'm gonna show them:

Lo primero un Bruto Despedazador del caos de Warhammer:

First off, a Slaughterbrute of chaos from Warhammer:

Lo pille por treinta euros en Wallapop aun cerrado así que fue una ganga (a sesenta euros no lo habría comprado ni borracho). Tedioso de pintar si soy sincero sobretodo para los pocos colores que tiene y mas aun el montado del mismo con piezas muy quisquillosas de posición que afectan a otras parted de la mini, pero bueno, me gusta mucho el resultado.

I got it for thirty euros with shipping in Wallapop still closed in box so it was a bargain (at sixty euros I wouldn't buy it not even drunk). Cumbersome to paint if I'm honest specially for so few colors and gluing it is quite hard with very finnicky pieces that affect other ones but even still, I really like the result.

Le hice una base escénica y lo pinté con los colores originales. No le puse ciertas partes para que fuera un demonio mas genérico y no tan de Warhammer (como las espadas de la espalda). Quedé contento con el, a ver cuando juego y subo una banda lo suficiente como para poder convocarlo.

I made a scenic base and painted it with the original colors from the box.  I didn't put some parts so it looks more like a generic daemon instead of a Warhammer one (like the swords on the back). I am happy with it, let's see when can I play and improve the warband enough to summon it.

Lo segundo que os traigo es el líder de la banda, Elric de Melniboné, hecho con una miniatura de Andrea Miniatures:

Le hice la capa en púrpura y amarillo porque así destaca y el color púrpura se suele asociar con la nobleza. La verdad es una miniatura preciosa y me encanta el moldeado y detalle.

I've painted the cloak purple and yellow since that way the color contrasts and the purple color usually is regarded as nobility. The miniature is gorgeous and I really like the casting and detail.

Lo tercero que os traigo es una miniatura de una empresa española que está haciendo muchas miniaturas a precios económicos de fantástica calidad y detalle en resina, MoM Miniatures:

Third, a miniature from a newcomer manufacturer from here in spain that is making many miniatures for economic prices and outstanding quality and detail on resin, MoM Miniatures:

Esta miniatura me vino en la revista Falcata, una revista de wargames también española y la verdad por siete euros fue una ganga, la miniatura es preciosa y me vale para hacer de aprendiz de mago o de capitán, en este caso de Dvym Tvar, el primo de Elric.

It came on Falcata, a wargame magazine also from Spain and for seven euros it's a good buy, the miniature is gorgeous and it's useful as the aprentice or the captain, in this case as Dvym Tvar, Elric's cousin.

Y por último pero no peor por ello, el primero de los tesoros:

En Frostgrave se lucha por conseguir tesoros en la mayoría de escenarios y cada jugador pone tres así que quería hacer unos que valgan para ambas bandas (quizá ya deduzcáis de que va ser la segunda banda al ver esto).

In Frostgrave you fight for treasure in most battles and each player puts three so I wanted to make some that look good for both warbands (maybe you can guess already what's the second one gonna be about seeing this).

Y de momento esto es todo por hoy, jugué una partida en Draco pero no pude hacer AAR ni sacar fotos ya que aparte de que no me acordé jugamos una partida a cinco jugadores todos contra todos así que ya era bastante caótico como para ponerme a hacer el AAR pero fue una partida muy divertida y mas aun para introducción al juego (aun si fue un poco lenta debido al número de jugadores).

And this is it for the moment, I played one match on Draco but couldn't make the AAR nor take pictures since I didnt remember and we played a five man free for all so it was already chaotic enough to be writing and taking pictures but it was a really fun game specially for an introduction (even if it was slow due to the number of players).

Nuevas escuadra para FUBAR y vehiculos

Hoy os traigo mas FUBAR para mi escuadrón inspirado en Foxhound. Primero os dejo las fotos de los soldados en sí:

Today I bring you more FUBAR, more minis of my Foxhound inspired squadron. First, the pictures os the soldiers on itself:

Siento la calidad de las fotos, la verdad últimamente no consigo hacerlas mejor (quizá debería reunir para una cámara decente, la que uso tiene casi diez años). Como en la caja de PMC de Khurasan solo vienen diez y solo uno de ellos es especialista añadí dos de los viejos soldados que tenía para completar tres escuadras de cuatro.

I'm sorry about the picture quality, to be honest lately I can't make them better (maybe I should save for a decent camera, the one I use is ten years old). As in the Khurasan PMC box only has ten and only one of them is a specialist so I added two of the old ones so I finish the four man squads.

Como veis casi todos llevan armas en color tan salvo uno que lleva un rifle verde lima en honor a mi skin favorita del CSGO (la Galil Cerberus) y la de abajo de todo es una mini que han hecho de Lara Croft que hará las veces de líder mientras no imprimo a Liquid Snake y a Sniper Wolf.

As you can see all of them have tan weapons save one that has a lime green rifle in honor of my CSGO favourite skin (the Cerberus Galil) and the one below is a Lara Croft proxy wich will work as a leader while I don't print Liquid Snake and Sniper Wolf.

  Use nuevas técnicas para pintarlas como veladuras y feathering, quedaron bastante bien aunque por culpa de la calidad de las imágenes es casi inapreciable.

I've used new techiniques for painting them like layering and feathering wich look good but since the quality of the pictures is bad it can't be seen.

Ahora os dejo los dos vehículos, el PT-76 de Battlefront y el BTR-80 de Zvezda:

Now the two vehicles, the PT-76 from Battlefront and the BTR-80 from Zvezda:

El PT-76 es un tanque ligero anfibio ruso de la época de la invasión a Irak. La calidad es magnífica como os había dicho ya.

The PT-76 is an amphibious light russian tank from the Irak invasion era. The quality is magnificent as I previously said.

El BTR-80 es un transporte de infantería ligero. La miniatura de Zvezda es escala 1/100 así que es ligeramente mas pequeño de lo debido pero mayormente cuela con las miniaturas una vez lo compare con un BTR real en fotografías. La maqueta es simple, se puede montar sin pegar (aunque recomiendo pegarla para que no haya separaciones entre piezas) y tiene bastante detalle por el precio que tiene.

The BTR-80 is a light infantry transport. The Zvezda mini is 1/100 scale so it's slightly smaller than what it should be but it looks good enough as I chequed with real pictures. The model is simple, can be prepared without glue (although I recommend gluing them so there's no gaps) and it has enough detail for the price.

Ahora he de decir que pase por la asociación Draco y aparte del buen rollo me dejaron probar Age of Sigmar y he de decir que es un buen juego: simple, rápido para la cantidad de miniaturas y a pesar de tener algunas cosas absurdas (como catapultas corriendo y disparando en el mismo turno) es tan simple que es muy divertido para novatos a los wargames (aunque caro debido a ser de Workshop). La verdad me pensaré el hacer un ejército. Y luego probamos Open Combat y parece que gustó y quizá se juegue una campaña a Frostgrave o a Morheim y como he pedido cosas para hacer la banda de Melniboné pues ya tendré con que jugarlo. Pronto enseñaré al Elric que he pintado para ser el líder.

Now I've gotta say I went to Draco's association and besides the good vibes they let me try Age of Sigmar and I have to say it's a great game: simple, fast for the amount of minis and even though it has some weird things (like running catapults that shoot on the same turn) it's so simple that It'll be fun for novices to wargames (although expensive because it's from Workshop). I am really thinking on making an army. And we tried Open Combat too and seems they liked it and maybe we'll play a Frostgrave or Mordheim campaign and since Im making the Melniboné warband I will have something to play with. I'll post soon the Elric I've painted as a leader.

Cuatro años de blog

Como pasa el tiempo... Hoy, día catorce de Enero de dos mil diecisiete se cumplen cuatro años desde mi primer post en este blog. Para ser un blog de miniaturas, es ya longevo, la mayoría paran a los dos o tres años.

Time flies so fast... Today, fourteen of January of two thousand and seventeen this blogs becomes four year old. Being a mini blog it's a substantial time since most stop at three years.

¿Que decir de estos años? He traído prácticamente todo lo que he hecho en cuanto a hobby y alguna cosa extra como opiniones, tutoriales o incluso algo de videojuegos. He traído todo tipo de wargames, desde conocidos hasta cosas aleatorias, he posteado un montón de cosas en impresión 3d para darle mas popularidad en el hobby, incluso hubo un momento que por subir a Grom me mencionaron en otro blog y en una ocasión el artista que hizo el dibujo del Omega me comentó por hacer una réplica del esquema de su imagen (y caray si ha pasado tiempo, el Omega ahora es verde con el logo de mi escuadra).

What to say of this time? Well, I brought almost everything I've done hobby related and some extra things like opinions, tutorials or some videogame even. I brought all kinds of wargames, from well known ones to very random things, I've posted a lot of 3d printed stuff to give it more popularity on the hobby scene, I even got mentioned once for uploading the Grom in a French WoW website and in another ocasion the maker of the Omega artwork commented my picture since I replicated his color scheme (and boy has time passed, now my Omega is green and with my squad logo).

Hubo algún momento que por diversas razones tuve que romper el ritmo que llevaba semanal y al final decidí cambiar simplemente a postear cuando tenga cosas listas para mostrar o cuando tenga algo interesante que decir que voy hacer. Incluso cambió de diseño, de un negro imposible de leer a este blanco mucho mas legible.

There were some moments that for different reasons I had to break my weekly schedule and decided to just post whenever I have something worth to show or whenever I'm going on a new project. It even changed color and general scheme, from a black ugly and unreadeable state to this more appealing white.

Pero todo esto solo me da mas ganas de seguir, aun si no me lee mucha gente la poca que lo hace me anima y sirve para ver como mejoro, que hice en el pasado, que minis he tenido (ya que alguna rompe, repinta, convierte o se pierde).

But all this just give me more motivation, even if not many people read me but the few that do give me forward momentum and it's valuable to see how I improved, what I've done in the past and what minis I had (since some are lost, broken, repainted or even converted).

¿Que podéis esperar de este año? Pues mayormente mas de lo mismo pero ahora para principios de año tengo mucho que poner de FUBAR, alguna mini de 15mm aleatoria (como las del Warcraft que no terminé, quiero terminarlas o al menos alguna de ellas), pronto un Elric de 28mm y seguramente otra mini mas en ese tamaño que voy coger para jugar Open Combat en una asociación de la ciudad que conocí hace poco (y donde vi por primera vez en persona una miniatura pintada por un profesional, algo que es increíble, no tiene nada que ver de en persona a una imagen) y por el momento eso es lo único que se seguro que traeré poco a poco.

What can you expect from this yeat? Well mostly more of the same but now in the year beggining I will post a lot of FUBAR, some random 15mm mini (like the Warcraft ones, with I didn't finish but I do want to or at least another one), soon a 28mm Elric and another companion since I will be playing Open Combat in a group in my city that I recently discovered (and where I saw my first pro painted mini in person, wich is amazing, pictures don't make justice to pro quality minis) and for the moment that's it, that's the only assured stuff that I will be bringing.

En fin, ¡por otros cuatro años mas (y quien sabe, quizá en ese tiempo el blog sea mas relevante, o incluso cambie algo mas, se acabe o mejore, ya lo descubriremos)!

So yeah, for another four years (and who knows, maybe on that time the blog will be relevant, or change, stop or get improved, we will soon know)!
