SAS, un Desangrador y Mechs

Otro año mas que sigo con mi blog y hay que empezar enseñando cosas. 

Another year that I keep my blog active and we have to start showing new things.

Lo primero serán las miniaturas que he preparado para Black Ops, cinco soldados del SAS en camuflaje multicam:

First up the minis I will use for Black Ops, five soldiers from SAS with multicam camo:

Ya tengo el manual por fin así que pronto lo leeré y daré mi opinión. Creo que en casa no podre jugar demasiadas partidas porque ni tengo escenografía ni nada pero en Draco probaré algunas partidas si se animan.

I've got the rules already so I will read them soon and give my opinion. I think I won't be able to play too much at home since I don't have many appropiate terrain but I'll play in Draco some games if anyone wants.

Las minis las hice con diversas partes de Anvil Industries, me inspiré en una imagen de unos SAS en sus misiones de Afganistán. Les cambié colores al equipamiento para que quedaran mejor como miniaturas.

Minis were made with diverse parts from Anvil Industries, I was inspired by a picture of some SAS in Afghanistan missions. I've changed some equipment colors so they look better as miniatures.

Lo segundo que traigo es un Desangrador de Khorne del 98'. Lo conseguí gracias a un amigo al que le dieron un montón de cosas de wargames gratis y entre los bits hay bastantes cosas (de hecho sacaré mas minis cuando lo haya inspeccionado el todo y aclaremos que se queda cada uno, de hecho ya tengo bits para escenografía y me quede algunas partes de vehículos de 40k para hacer terreno de Battletech 1/900):

Second up is a Khorne Bloodletter from 98'. I got it thanks to a friend wich was given a lot of wargame stuff for free and between the bits there's a lot of things (in fact I will get some more minis whenever he finishes inspecting all and think what each one gets, in fact I've already got some bits from 40k vehicles to use as Battletech 1/900 terrain):

Me llevó solo una tarde, la verdad hoy me encontraba mal y sin ganas de hacer mucho así que probé a pintarlo. Es la segunda mini que pinto desde que comenzó el año. Fue muy interesante y divertido de pintar y pude usar rojo bastante que es un color que no suelo usar demasiado.

Took only an afternoon to paint, to be honest I was sick today and didn't want to do much so I tried painting it. Second mini of the year. Really interesting and fun to paint and I used red wich is a color I don't use too often.

Por último una foto de los Wolf's Dragoons de Battletech 1/900, repinté el Timber Wolf para que sea como el que uso yo en Mechwarrior online y les puse efectos de disparo a él y al Warhammer de Natasha:

También voy repintar el otro bando y tengo listo para imprimir la nave de descenso y un par de mechs una vez haya comprado un par de cosas que necesito para la vida diaria. Los otros mechs no decidí todavía del todo como los repintaré pero bueno, en breve lo decidiré supongo. 

I'm going to repaint the other mechs also and I have ready to print the dropship and a few mechs but they will have to wait until I buy some things I need for real life. The other mechs scheme isn't decided yet but I will eventually.

También he preparado las cartas para AS y una vez convertidas las distancias ya se de cuanto debe ser el tablero. Haré un tablero de 50x30cm en el que un cacho sera una pista de aterrizaje / pequeña base avanzada de mechs con bosque / desfiladero alrededor. Gracias a los bits que cogí puedo hacer una base bastante interesante pero aun tengo que diseñar todo bien y encontrar un tablero de madera fino para el susodicho. 

I've also prepared the AS cards and since I've changed the distances already I know how big the table needs to be. I will do a 50x30cm tabletop in wich there will be a landing pad / small front base with forest / ridges on the side. Thanks to the bits I got I can make an interesting base but I have to design everything yet and finde a table for it.

Sera de terreno fijo con lo cual intentare modelar alguna colina o algo en el aunque sea de pequeño tamaño, voy buscar bastante inspiración tanto de imágenes genéricas como del juego de pc que va salir. Este año me propongo como propósito acabar ese tablero, los mechs y jugar varias partidas y colgar los AAR y también terminar la banda de Frostgrave / Ghost Archipélago.

It'll have fixed terrain so I'll try to model a hill or something on it of small size, I'll look for inspiration on generic pics and the new Battletech PC game. My year's resolution is to finish this board, the mechs and play some games and post the AAR's and also finish the Frostgrave / Ghost Archipelago warband.

Bueno, suficiente por hoy, me alegro de tener un blog que dura tantos años aunque sea solo contenido simple y gracias a todos los que me seguís o lo miráis, se que sois pocos pero se agradece igual, este Enero el blog cumplirá los cinco años ya así que ya es un logro.

Well, enough's enough, I'm glad to have a blog going for so many years even though the content is simple and thanks to everyone who follows it or reads it, I know you're only a few but still thanks anyway, this January my blog makes five years so it's a good achievement.

Un poco tardía la entrada (¡ya es casi fin de año!) pero bueno, aquí están los últimos encargos que me pidieron:

A bit late this entry (almost the end of the year!) but anyway, here's my latest comissions:

Lo primero un Verminlord de los Skavens:

First a Skaven Verminlord:

Tanto el que me la pidió como yo mismo coincidimos en que fué la que mejor me quedó de las que le pinté por el momento, la verdad me quedó que es una pasada, es una lástima que las fotos le hagan tan poquísima justicia a la figura.

Both me and the commisioner conclude in the fact that it's the best I've painted for him for the moment, it's a blast of a mini, such a shame the pictures doesn't represent the reality of the painjob well enough.

Lo siguiente un caballero de Slaneesh:

A Slaneesh Knight now:

Una figura excelente y el uso de tanto púrpura fue bastante divertido. En la espalda quizá debería haber pintado parte de la "ala" dorsal en otro color para dar variedad pero bueno, lo hecho hecho está. La cola ya venía partida así que la hice "sangrante" como si la hubieran cortado.

An excelent miniature and the use of so much purple was fun. I should've used other colors in the back's "wing" to give contrast but oh well, what's done is done. The tail was broken already so I made it "bloody" so it seems like it's been cut.

Y tengo que decir que lamentablemente el estandarte se despegó, no se quién la diseño pero esta dividido en dos y hay que pegar una varilla de metal a otra varilla de metal, sin ningún apoyo ni nada y ambas de un milímetro de anchura, vaya tela... Solo se me ocurría soldarla pero no se hacerlo así que la tuve que entregar así pero ya había avisado al que me la encargo y ya se lo esperaba.

Gotta say that sadly the banner broke, I dunno who designed it but it's divided on two and you have to glue a metal rod into a metal rod, with no support or anything and both are a milimeter on diameter, that's absurd... I though on soldering it but I don't know how to do it so I had to give it like this but the commisioner was told beforehand and he was kinda expecting it.

No es que me entusiasme mucho el nuevo diseño de diablillas pero aún así quedó bastante espectacular y el efecto de las máscaras me quedó calcado a el de Workshop. Poco que decir sobre ella la verdad.

Not a big fan of the new daemonettes but still looks amazing and the masque effect was almost like the one on GW's. Not much to say of her to be honest.

Esta vez también traigo algo mío aunque solo es un proyecto, os dejo una imagen de la escuadra que voy usar en Black Ops:

Por desgracia se les olvidó meter el quinto par de piernas y una de las cabezas (y otra era horrenda) así que hice duplicados pero salvo ese detalle me encanta esta marca. Han quedado un poco PMC demás (y el de la derecha casi parece de ISIS) pero cuando los pinté ya parecerán soldados de verdad.

Sadly they forgot to send the fifth leg set and one of the heads (and another one was horrid looking) so I made some duplicates but despite this I love this brand. They look PMC-ish (and the one on the right almost looks like a ISIS member) but as soon as I paint them they'll look like soldiers.

Con las piezas sobrantes de ellos y de los Cadianos que estaba haciendo para ITeN hice dos marcadores de objetivo, un caché de armas robadas y una que puede servir de explosivos, de armas, de documentos u otras cosas. También tengo aun el artefacto nuclear de 15mm y con unos modelos del Metal Gear V tengo rehenes para imprimir en un futuro.

With the spare parts from them and the ITeN Cadians I made two objective markers, a stolen weapon caché and the other can work as explosives, documents, weapons or anything really. Also I have the nuclear artifact I made for 15mm and with some 3D Metal Gear V models I've designed hostages for the future.

Black Ops es un juego para hacer operaciones tipo Splinter Cell, Metal Gear o Siphon Filter y que tiene mucho énfasis en misiones de sigilo. Con el sistema que tiene se puede usar para jugar partidas solo así que me interesa para jugar en casa.

Black Ops is a game about Splinter Cell, Metal Gear or Siphon Filter like operations centered on sneaking missions. The sistem it has works well for solo missions so I'm interested to play it at home.

Como vamos a jugar Ghost Archipélago junto a Frostgrave estoy pensando en hacer para ambos un campo de jungla aunque para Black Ops me gustaría mas uno basado en Inferno (mapa del Counter Strike).

Since we're gonna play Ghost Archipelago next to Frostgrave I'm thinking on doing terrain that doubles for it and Black Ops, but for the latter I would love some terrain based on Inferno (Counter Strike map).

Tengo alguna cosa mas para subir pero lo dejaré para la semana que viene o la siguiente. Una cosa que quería comentar es que vi un vídeo parte del D&Dcember de Projared en Youtube sobre el alineamiento y me estaba planteando hacer un pequeño post con como he usado yo el alineamiento y mis opiniones sobre el ¿que pensáis?

I've got something else to upload but I'll leave it for next week. One thing I wanted to tell you is I've seen a video part of the D&Dcember from Projared on Youtube about alignment and I was thinking on making a post about how I've used it on games and my opinions about it, what do you think?

Mas minis de Frostgrave y Battletech

Hey there gents!

De nuevo traigo minis, esta vez son mías no un encargo (aunque ya tengo otro y pronto lo acabaré) y la primera es una mini para Frostgrave, para una nueva banda:

Again some minis, this time my own (although I do have a commision on progress and soon I'll post it) and the first one is a mini for a new Frostgrave warband:

Es un bárbaro del Caos de MoMminiaturas, una fantástica miniatura, con bastante detalle y muy barata. Esta vez esta banda intento que vaya con colores coherente (ropa de telas/cuero antiguos, la armadura en metales, colores mas neutros...). Dentro de lo que cabe la hice un poco rápido demás pero no quedo mal del todo.

It's a Chaos barbarian from MoMminiaturas, a fantastic miniature with a lot of detail and really cheap. This warband will have coherent colors )clothing in old leather/cloth, metal for armor, neutral colors...). I did it quite fast but it looks good.

Lo siguiente es la primera lanza de un nuevo proyecto de Battletech en 1/900, cambio de escala para poder jugar en casa mas cómodo ya que en Draco no juego tanto. La primera es una lanza de los Wolf's Dragoons que incluye el Warhammer de Natasha Kerensky:

Next is the first lance of a new Battletech project in 1/900, I change the scale so I can play at home more comfortably since people don't play as much in Draco. First up a Wolf's Dragoons lance wich includes Natasha Kerensky's Warhammer:

La segunda lanza es de la Task Force Serpent, la fuerza que fue a acabar con el clan Smoke Jaguar en respuesta a la invasión de los clanes. Ya que es una fuerza compuesta de gente de todas las facciones de la Esfera Interior les pinté los hombros derechos con la bandera Gallega para que fueran algo mas personales:

Next up a lance of the Task Force Serpent, the force that went to exterminate the clan Smoke Jaguar as a response to the clan invasion. Since it's made of people from all the Inner Sphere I painted the right shoulders with the Gallaecian flag so they are a bit more personal:

Los mechs miden aproximadamente dos centímetros de alto, impresos en Frosted Ultra Detail de Shapeways. Tienen bastante detalle y asi puedo echar en tableros muy pequeños o jugar en 2' x 2' en casa.

Mechs are aproximately two centimeters tall, printed in Frosted Ultra Detail from Shapeways. They have a lot of detail and I can play in 2' x 2' boards.

Ya estoy haciendo un tablero de 50x50cm con terreno en la escala, una ciudad con un poco de bosque alrededor y un par de monumentos.

I'm already making a 50x50cm board on the correct scale, a small city with a forest nearby and some monuments.

Tengo a la venta casi todo lo de escala 1/300, si alguien tiene interés que me hable por aquí en el blog o en el Instagram (un link a la derecha) y puedo dar una lista de lo que tengo a la venta y precios.

I've got almost all my 1/300 stuff to sell, if anyone is interested talk me here or in Instagram (a link on the right) and I can give a list of what I have and prices.

Otros encargos Skaven

Pues de nuevo os traigo otros encargos de la misma persona que me pidió los otros dos.

Again some more comissions from the same person who asked for the two before.

Lo primero es una "Skaven Plague Foundry", una máquina de asedio de los Skaven. Fue complicada hacerla debido a que estaba montada, por suerte el "incensiario" estaba mal pegado y pude desmontarlo para pintar mas fácilmente. Mucho marrón, muchos óxidos y algún intento de OSL y degradado en las llamas mágicas:

First a Skaven Plague Foundry, a siege weapon from the Skavens. Kinda hard to paint since it was already glued, luckily the "incensary" was not fully glued so I could put it out to paint it better. Lots of browns, lots of rust and some OSL and feathering for the magical fires:

Lo siguiente es el Skaven que va delante de la máquina, tenía uno de sobra y quiso que lo pintara como si fuera un líder suelto. Mayormente lo hice igual que el otro pero con mas detalle al tener mejor acceso a la mini y con la capucha en negro ya que su ejército va así al parecer:

Next up the Skaven that goes in front of the machine, he had a spare one and wanted to paint it as a solo leader. Mostly done the same way as the other one but has more detail since I have better access to it and the hood is black since his army has black hoods aparently:

Y por último una miniatura mas que tenía, una mini antigua, Queek el coleccionista de cabezas. Divertido de hacer, pude pintar en rojo muchas partes cosa que no es habitual en mis minis. También mucho óxido como en la máquina pero bastante divertida. A diferencia de GW no hice los huesos blancos sino un color mas natural y las cabezas y manos las hice mas enfermas y podres en vez de color piel normal:

And last but not least another mini he had, an old mini, Queek the Headtaker. Fun to paint, I could use a lot of red wich is not usual on my minis. Also lots of rust like on the machine but really fun. I didn't paint the bones white like GW, I made them in a more natural color and also the heads I did more ill and dead rather than making them normal skin:

La verdad me gustaron mucho en general, un buen encargo y divertido, siempre quise pintar Skavens así que no tengo queja. Para la próxima entrada ya pondré algo mio, tengo un nuevo proyecto de Battletech y una banda nueva para Frostgrave (que aunque un par de minis ya son de otra de las que hice el resto son nuevas) pero aun no la pinté así que me pondré a ello.

So I really liked them, a good and fun comission, always wanted to paint some Skavens so I won't complain. Next time I'll upload something mine, I've got another Battletech proyect and a new warband for Frostgrave (that even though I used some of the old minis, the rest are ne) but they are unpainted so I will start painting them.

Mis dos primeras comisiones de pintado

Pues hoy lo que traigo es las dos primeras comisiones que me han pedido como pintor. La verdad me ha encantado que me hayan pedido algo por fin, tuve un par de intentonas en el pasado pero uno simplemente no me volvió a contestar y el otro encontró alguien con mas calidad de pintado que yo (y considerando que era para una gama de miniaturas necesitaba priorizar calidad en vez de precio).

Today I bring you my first two commisions as a painter. To be honest I love that finally someone asked me to do something, I've had two people ask but one simply didn't answer back and the other one found a much better painter than me (and considering it was for a miniature seller he had to prioritice quality and not price).

Lo que me han pedido fue primero un señor de la transformación de Tzeench:

First off, a Tzeench's lord of change:

Fue un tanto reto de hacer la verdad. La piel no quedé totalmente contento con ella pero el resto me gusto mucho. El que me lo encargo me pidió que le diera un esquema de color muy similar a una garza blanca (especialmente fijándome en las patas y en una mancha azul oscuro de la cabeza). El color oro tuve que ir a por uno muy específico y creo que quedó magnífico. El bastón iba ir sin tintas y solo en colores claros con barniz gloss pero me pidió que fuera igual a otras partes de la miniatura así que recurrí a la tinta para que se pareciera. En las patas, en la quitina tuve que hacer un degradado (que por desgracia no se ve bien en las fotos) de color carne a marrón y luego a púrpura. Por el resto ya eran cosas mas normales de una miniatura, mucho azul y turquesa cosa que me gusto, no son colores que pueda usar lo suficiente a pesar de que me gustan bastante.

Quite the challenge! The skin didn't turn out perfect but the rest I really did like how it turned out. He asked me to paint it in a similar way to a white heron (putting special attention to the legs and the white spot on the head). The gold had to be very specific but it turned out magnificent. The cane was going to be just color and no ink in bright colors so it looks like crystal but he asked me it to look like the rest of the miniature so I resorted to ink to give depth and darken it. In the legs I did a feathering from skin to brown to purple (you can't see it well on pics sadly). The rest were standard faring for a miniature, lots of turquoise and blue wich I like, they are colors I don't use a lot even If I like them a lot.

No hay mucho que decir, veladuras en la capa y pude practicar algo de OSL en ciertas partes que aunque las fotos no le hacen nada de justicia, me sirvió como entrenamiento y me salió bastante bien. Un poco soso de color pero claro, es así en Workshop (y tiene sentido, su armadura sería horrible en la mayoría de colores y no pegaría con la idea de la miniatura).

Not a lot to say, feathering on the cloak and could try a bit of OSL in some parts although pics don't do it justice, it served as good training and looks quite good. A bit lacking in color but hey, that's how Workshop did it (and makes sense, his armor would look horrid in most colors and wouldn't go with the feel of the miniature).

Así que muy contento con mis dos primeros trabajos, al principio antes de empezar estaba increíblemente nervioso, constantemente preguntándome si sería capaz o si saldría bien, pero una vez pase de la piel de la primera figura ya me volvió la confianza y me gustó lo que hice y tras ver la cara del cliente creo que a el también le gusta mucho y eso es una parte importante, la verdad ver la satisfacción del que me lo ha pedido en persona da un subidón de orgullo, felicidad y confianza en mis habilidades.

So I'm really happy with my first two jobs, I was really nervous before starting, asking myself If I would be capable, if it would turn out correctly but as I finished the skin on the first mini my confidence came back and I liked what I did and seeing the face of the client I think he really likes them too and that's really important, truth be told seeing the satisfaction of the person who asked me to do them live gives a lot of pride, happiness and confidence on my skills.
